Description

Resveratrol2014, hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, was the third international conference with specific focus on the compound resveratrol. The interest has increased even more since the first conference in 2010 with an increased number of scientific publications (close to 6000) and the general interest on the compound show a compound that has received big attention. The goal of the international resveratrol conferences is to collect the available knowledge on resveratrol and produce a selection of reports with the latest updates on global resveratrol research, as well as recommendations for the coming year’s scientific research and the use of resveratrol.

Therefore, Resveratrol2014 brought together the leading profiles from across the world to collect and summarized last year’s scientific work in the area of resveratrol.

The recommendations from the previous conferences can be found at PLoS ONE: What Is New for an Old Molecule? Systematic Review and Recommendations on the Use of Resveratrol (Resveratrol2010) and at www.resveratrol2012.eu (for the Resveratrol2012 recommendations).

As the clinical trials evaluating the biological effects of resveratrol are in focus of the resveratrol field these years, Resveratrol2014 highlighted presentations showing the clinical effects of resveratrol.
